| It's been a while since we have updated our site. If you haven't heard we have been very blessed to be able to open a new and much larger location. We have more than tripled our square footage and size and we welcome back the return of our ring (it was very missed). There is much more space to accomodate our ever growing student/team base. We are also going to be adding a half cage for our brazilian jujitsu/mma program. Our grand opening is Monday March 3rd. The address is: 744 Broadway Tacoma, WA 98402 It's very exciting to be part of downtown Tacoma once again where we first opened our doors back in 1997. There is a lot more life in downtown Tacoma with the addition of more residential housing, retail and nightlife, and we are proud to be a part of the new face of the downtown area. We just wrapped an enormous project in our first fight promotion THUNDER Fight for Life together with Marc Valdes president of NWCW Inc. and the head of Purpose Events. Kru and Ariana took care of all the fight and event planning details and put on what has been called one of the best shows Washington has ever seen. The event was to benefit AIDS orphans in South Africa for an organization called Acres of Love (www.acresoflove.org). We were able to call attention to and raise awareness for this amazing organization thru the media (radio/newspaper/magazine articles) as well as all over the web and of course all of those who came to the fights. The show was professional and everyone who came had a blast. We can't wait to do it again! Next time will be back to raise even more much needed money for these kids, so stay tuned! That night saw talent from Master Toddy's, World Kickboxing, Lance Gibson's Kickboxing and Pankration, Brian Johnson's, Iron Shins, Gater MMA and Lotus Kickboxing as well as team Chaisai.
Exhibition bout
Chris Bryant (Chaisai) vs. Cody Gater (Gater MMA)
Bout #1
The first bout set the tone for the evening. Both fighters came out strong and throwing kicks and punches. The judges ruled it a win in favor or Gater. Most felt Chris had it. Great fight by two tough fighters who both fought hard.
Bout #2
Scott Mcdonald (Chaisai) vs Matt 'the leprechan" Ditchfield (World Kickboxing)
This was one of my favorite fights of the night. "The leprechan" came out hard with a front kick to Scotts face that bloodied him and sent him crashing to the canvas. Scott got up almost possessed and came back to drop Ditchfield at least two times...catching body kicks thai style and sweeping the legs. Scott dumped Matt 4-5 times. The whole fight non stop brutal action. Scott landed more punches and knees pushing Ditchfield back. Winner by UD Scott Mcdonald.
Bout #3
Will Cordingly (Chaisai) vs Josh Anderson (Lotus)
Wills boxing was dominant. His right hand hit the mark everytime along with some great uppercuts. Josh was a tough guy and stood his ground and fought the whole fight. Will's constant pressure and forward pressing won him the decision. Best I've seen him.
Bout #4
Kevin White (Marcelo Alonso's BJJ) vs. Frank Street (Iron Shins)
This fight started out with Frank demonstrating great muay thai stand up. Frank shot and took Kevin down for the mount. Kevin used his sick jujistu skills to reverse and get the armbar in the first round. Really exciting finish!
Bout #5
Jonah "the prodigy" Villamor vs Adam Naamani (Team Gibson)
Jonah and Adam stood and traded where Jonah was clearly dominant. Jonah took Adam down for the ground and pound. Adam reversed it and caught Villamor with the RNC for the win. Both fighters were humble and classy. Adam comes from a great ground program training with the famous Mr. Lance Gibson Sr. Hope for a rematch sometime the future. Way to go Adam!
Bout #6
Noah Foespheler (Brian Johnson's) vs. Gabe Harrington (Lotus)
This fight was all about kicks. The first round fractured his foot on Noahs shin in a kick attempt. Despite that this tough as nails guy kept going all three rounds. Gabe is one to watch in the future. Noah utilized all the weapons of knees, push kicks, left and right leg and head kicks. It was very impressive. At one point during the fight he was looking over at the lovely Lisa King who was commentating and winking at her. What a flirt. He took the fight UD.
Bout #7
Bryan Jones Jr. (Chaisai) vs Phil Jones (World Kickboxing)
Bryan Jones Jr. is back! He took on a game Phil from Vince Jauncey's World Kickboxing. Everyone knows the Canadians are tough and he certainly lived up to that expectation. Jones go forward bull-style earned him the victory. He set the pace and dominanted with kicks, punches, knees and elbows. Bryan dedicated this fight to his father who recently passed on.
Bout #8
Semi- main event 155lb muay thai title
Chaz Mulkey (Master Toddy) vs Jared Teer (Brian Johnson's)
This fight displayed great muay thai technique and both fighters came ready to get down. Chaz performed the Wai Kru thai pre-fight dance. The bell rang and it was on!! Jared was relentless til the end. Chaz used the thai clinch to his advantage that Master Toddy's gym is famous for. His staight leg body and low kicks punished Teer and dumping him a few times from the clinch, but Jared would get up and kept coming forward at Chaz. This was not an easy fight for Mulkey. Chaz corner was lead by world champions Anthony Brown and Ben Garcia who guided him to take the fight (and the shiny new BLING) by UD. Great job by both fighters and their both trainer's!
Bout #9
Main event 125lb muay thai title
Sam "Youngblood" Poulton(Chaisai) vs. Spencer Sroeury(Srab's Muay Thai)
Some main events don't live up to the hype..but this one did not disapoint! Both fighters performed the traditional wai kru. Spencer came out kicking, Sam defended and they got into the clinch. Spencer knee kneed and kneed some more while Sam attacked his body. The whole fight was crackin'! Spencer threw some crazy jump knees which Sam evaded well and was able to dominated Spencer in the thai clinch with great movement/footwork and outside inside knees of his own. Once Sam let his hands go he pushed Spencer around the ring and dumped him at least 5-6 times throughout the fight! Spencer is a tough kid and is a star in the making. Sam "Youngblood" was just too strong for him and looked like a little Kru Alberto Ramirez in the ring. Sam wins the title and the shiny new bling by UD! New women's only muay thai class taught by resident female World Champion Ariana Ramirez. The classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays. Private and semi-private instruction is available every Friday.
